Hello, 

Welcome! My name is Jake Mackey.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve had the privilege of working at the heart of several AAA video game titles and leading a major UK charity’s efforts to raise vital funds through the video games industry and live streaming. Along the way, I’ve collaborated with streamers and content creators to deliver impactful, lasting campaigns, and developed creative strategies for businesses seeking to connect with audiences in authentic, engaging and meaningful ways. 

In 2021, I took a step back to focus on family, becoming the primary carer for our newborn while completing a First-Class Honours degree in Animal Conservation and Biodiversity. My thesis explored how Monster Hunter, a best selling recreational video game series, unintentionally yet successfully imparts real-world ecological knowledge to its players, and how there are abundant opportunities that the third sector can harness from the biggest entertainment industry in the world, video games. This solidified my passion in helping charities to effectively engage with the video games industry and content creator spaces for philanthropic success.

LevelupJake, established in 2023, combines expertise from the video games industry, creative industry, and charity sector to tackle the challenge of uniting these distinct and uniquely different worlds by understanding every aspect of the ecosystem and how they can connect.
